This quote is said by William Shakespeare in the book "The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark (A revenge tragedy) which is assumed to be written between 1600 and 1602. He narrated it as "I have heard of your paintings, too, well enough; God hath given you one face, and you make yourselves another: you jig, you amble, and you lisp, and nickname God’s creatures, and make your wantonness your ignorance. Go to, I’ll no more on’t; it hath made me mad.
This quote proves to be so true, especially, during these times where people have ditched there true inner beings and trying to pretend to be others. We are so used to follow others in order to impress the world around us that we forget why we are here.
God has created each one of us with a purpose. The purpose that He knows and He communicate to us, only if we are ready to listen to him. Also, He has given us the strengths and weaknesses based on the purpose for which He has created us. No two people are same. It is because everyone on this earth has come for specific purpose of the God and each one of us has the different purpose.
However, we tend to forget our duties and responsibilities. We run towards the path that are not meant for us. We try to be someone else in order to get the browny points of the fellow beings. No matter, if for this "someone else" we have to change ourselves, we happily do that. At the end (because we are not meant for that purpose) we are not satisfied and inner peace is destroyed.
William's quote spreads the wisdom of being yourself. In other words just be what you are. Stop Pretending. Say and behave in the way your inner sense ask you to do. There is no point to behave in the way other likes which is against your own happiness. Take a deep breathe and talk to your inner self. You are bound to receive the answers no matter how difficult the situation is. Once you receive the answer follow that path and just be yourself.
