Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill who was born on 30 November 1874 was the child of Lord Randolph Churchill and Lady Randolph Churchill (née Jennie Jerome). He was born at the stately home of his father in Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire. Lady Randolph hired Mrs. Elizabeth Everest as a nanny to care for Winston.
